I do like the way Adam Posen licks Pete Peterson’s arse (in exchange for mega-bucks). Posen says, “We have some wonderful scholars who make Peterson among the very top research institutions” and “Our unique brand is intellectual quality”. Hilarious.

As regards “intellectual quality” I attended a speech by Posen about a year ago where he made the absurd claim that all recessions were caused by property price booms and slumps. As Ann Pettifor pointed out after the speech, the property price roller coaster certainly had much to do with the recent crisis, but that roller coaster is not generally seen as being the central cause of the 1929 crash.
